Supplementation
It is important for citizens to supplement their own food security and contribute towards the overall food sovereignty. Minimally, each household and community should be able to grow some green vegetables, or even fish or poultry, to provide partially for the family consumption and needs.
Another key strategy for supplementation is to develop a store room within each home and a storehouse in every community. The family and community store must have essential supplies and be able to support members of the household or community for a minimum of 3 months, and preferably, for 6 months to a year.

Maintaining a store of food near you is essential for survival. Buying quality essential food by bulk and as direct as possible from source would enhance the quality and shelf life of the goods. This adds value and savings for the community.
The value proposition from JHI is expertise and experience in modelling a sustainable home or community ecosystem including a mixture of aquaponics and hydroponics, and storehouse complete with racks and inventory system. Training and preparation workshops provide hands on instructions to maintain the food production and sustained food recycling and storage.
